Madhuri Bandaru
Postdoctoral Research Associate
I am a dedicated researcher with a strong background in mitochondrial biology and neurodegeneration. My academic journey began with a Ph.D. from Osmania University in 2018, where I explored the intersection of neuroscience and cell biology, focusing on how environmental factors, such as lead toxicity, contribute to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. Throughout my research, I have developed a diverse set of skills and methodologies. A significant portion of my work involves in vitro studies, where I analyze neuronal cell dynamics and morphology, with a particular emphasis on mitochondrial function. Furthermore, I have extensive experience working with animal models, particularly rats and mice, to investigate the physiological and pathological aspects of neurodegeneration. My contributions to this field have been recognized through several academic awards during my graduate studies.
Following, in December 2023, I transitioned into a postdoctoral position at Dr. Reddy Lab, focusing on elucidating Rlip76 regulation in Alzheimer's disease. In this role, I manage various mouse models and conduct cognitive behavioral assessments, including rotarod, Morris Water Maze, Open Field, Novel Object Recognition, and Y-maze tests. Additionally, I have substantial experience studying Alzheimer’s disease pathology at the cellular, biochemical, and molecular levels, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications.
I have committed myself to expanding scientific understanding and turning findings into practical applications for patient care and therapeutic development. My professional path is driven by a desire to have a significant impact on the knowledge and management of neurological disorders by linking basic research and clinical applications.
