I hold a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Pune, India, and a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Skövde, Sweden. I earned my Ph.D. from the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria, where my research focused on T cell signal transduction and the molecular mechanisms of lupus nephritis in childhood. My study concluded that hyperactivation of the Akt pathway in Teff cells from children with lupus nephritis is associated with reduced TRAF6 induction and upregulation of OX40, potentially leading to Teff cell resistance to Treg-mediated suppression.
Following my Ph.D., I worked at the Tyrolean Cancer Research Institute in Innsbruck, Austria. In 2018, I moved to the USA and joined Dr. Hiranmoy Das’s lab at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), Amarillo, where I focused on arthritis-related research. More recently, I joined Dr. Reddy’s lab, where my research is now centered on neurodegenerative diseases.
